Beginning October 1st, Pennsylvania will make it possible for all schools participating in the School Breakfast Program (SBP) to provide free breakfast for all enrolled students during the 2022-2023 school year.
What does this mean for students attending North Pocono School District?
1. Beginning October 1st, all North Pocono students will be eligible to receive a free breakfast regardless of their current meal status.
2. Students can pick up their breakfast in the cafeteria. The cafeteria process will not change.
3. After a first breakfast is received free of charge, any additional items will be charged to the student's account. Please ensure that your student has funds available on their account if they would like to purchase additional items.
This change is only applicable for the School Breakfast Program in the 2022-2023 School Year. Our cafeteria will continue to serve lunch through the National School Lunch Program (NSLP). Lunch is $2.00 in the elementary schools and $2.35 in the Middle School and High School. Reduced priced lunch is $.40. Meal applications are being accepted for families that may qualify for free or reduced priced lunch. For more information, please visit www.npsd.org. Click on the Families tab and select Free and Reduced-Price Meals from the drop-down.
